This image has some definite meaning to me. First, it displays how I “fly” when I dream (see my recent post “In My Dreams, and My Art, I Fly”). I lift my head towards a vision I see, lean forward slightly and simply levitate towards it effortlessly. Trust me, it happens really frequently.
But, more importantly, this image was created in a celebration of my daughter’s new vision which is now coming to life. She is opening her new business in a few days and has followed her dream. I have been watching her develop her vision and then have it come to life through a long, arduous and diligent process. I am so proud of her hard work and clarity of mind! She is now the proud co-owner of an organic raw food and juice bar/supplements/café/and general surfer’s hang-out! Congratulations to you, sweet baby girl. May your visions always be clear and their manifestations beyond your expectations!
It’s rare that my daughters are in the same city at the same time. No matter the weather, we went out to photograph in the forest with a suitcase full of my long dresses and jewelry and the most beautiful two young ladies I know.
You know the concept….what would you take from your home in case of a fire? Most of us answer, “our photos” (besides our children and pets.)

And don’t forget our Valentine’s Boudoir Special! Gift a certificate for that to your special loved one and you’ll have a gift for Xmas and Valentine’s Day a well!
I have been wanting to update my website for a long time, but the thought of going through all of my new photos and choosing just the right ones left me overwhelmed and unmotivated. But I finally did it! The new website – still at www.nicomoon.com showcases much of the work I’ve been doing in the last year. I hope you visit and enjoy it!
Of particular interest (to me) is the new editorial work. I’ve been experimenting quite a bit in my free time and am loving the process. I’d like to do more fantasy shots for some of my regular portrait clients as well so let me know if you’re interested!
Do you have a dreamy photo of your honeymoon location or the place you first met your sweetheart? Wish you could trek pregnant into the Grand Canyon, but you’re pregnant and can’t bear the thought of a long hike?
I can make your dreams come true? I’ll photograph you in similar lighting to the location you provide (or I provide), then take your photo and the landscape, work hours of wizardry in my digital dark room (not for the faint of heart) and make it look as if you were actually there!
Flying in Coney Island? Check! You always wished you were Alice in Wonderland? Check! Do you kids want to fly like Peter Pan or astronauts? Definitely…..the sky’s not the only limit!
An honor student at an all girls’ school, Sofia approached me to take her yearbook photo. Little did she know what was in store for her! We had planned on photographing at an exotic place in Hollywood, but it turns out there was a red carpet event being held there that night. Well, this was Hollywood, after all. So we had to come up with a plan B — and fast — as the magic hour was fading quickly.
Laid back with a touch of girly, adventurous…that’s how this senior described her personal style. So we bee-lined directly to a park where she could climb a huge statue and a tree in her high heels. That must be her track-and-field background. How fun!
What a beautiful young lady! What a great time!
I wish you all the best this year and hope you get into the college of your dreams!!
There is something wonderful about the dramatic changes in our life….a new birth, learning to drive….and graduating high school. Chelsea celebrated her new life this month and is moving on to college to start her adult journey. Honestly, if she didn’t already have parents, I’d want to adopt her! Graceful and gentle, funny and so optimistic, Chelsea made this day and her senior photos shine! Good luck, Chelsea! May your journey be safe and adventurous and may you always keep your sunny disposition! Cheers!
